I recently had the pleasure of attending the CSCMP South Florida Roundtable’s panel on Florida’s evolving regulatory landscape. Kudos to Megan Smith, VP of Programs, and the organizing team for bringing Fernando Valle and Amanda Fraser from Colodny Fass to share insights on how legislation, insurance, and local regulations impact logistics operations.
One insight from Fernando stuck with me:
“A trap that business owners fall into is they think of risk as being static. Risk changes over time. Your exposure changes over time.”
Sound familiar?
This is exactly what we see with Bestshoring decisions. Companies often treat their operating model as a “set it and forget it” proposition. But workforce dynamics shift. Technology capabilities evolve. Customer expectations change. What worked three years ago may be creating hidden vulnerabilities today.
Fernando’s follow-up advice?
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Do it the right way the first time.”
That’s why periodic readiness assessments matter, whether you’re evaluating regulatory compliance or your global service center strategy. The companies that win aren’t reacting to problems. They’re anticipating them.
Thanks again to CSCMP South Florida Roundtable for creating space for these conversations. If you’re a logistics leader in South Florida, this is a group worth joining.
Is Your Operating Model Still Serving You?
If you’re wondering whether hidden vulnerabilities have crept into your global service center strategy, that’s exactly what our Bestshoring Readiness Health Check™ is designed to uncover.
Schedule a conversation to discuss where you are today and where the risks might be hiding.

Here is what the agenda reveals about the design decisions GBS organizations need to make now.
Bestshoring is not a location. It is the architecture that governs where work lives, who does it, and how it is organized. This visual framework makes the hierarchy clear.
A Bestshoring Case Study in Digital & AI Readiness Milestone updates fragmented across your network. Some through EDI. Most manual. Every location doing it differently, on their own timeline. The result: stale data, missed exceptions, reactive firefighting, and the question that signals your network is running blind: “Where is my freight?” If your customers are
A Fortune 100 strategic account was supported by four shared service centers with four different operating models. The fragmentation was invisible until it wasn't. Here's how a center of excellence approach delivered 35% SLA improvement and transformed customer confidence.
